St.-Malo

After a long day of driving and touring, we arrived at our digs in St.-Malo. We didn't realize that we were staying inside the ancient walled part of the city (intra muros) nor that our apartment was up a VERY narrow spiral staircase. what a delight! It feels a bit like living within the castle walls . . . except there are lots of tourists. We kept our car for the first 2 days and so felt we should take advantage of being able to tour the surrounding area. That was great but it was a hassle to find parking intra-muros on our return and we felt like we were missing out on really getting to know the area around the apartment. This morning we dropped the car off and spent time walking along the seaside, around the streets of the walled city, and then hit the beach this afternoon. Feels like we're on holiday!
